Tasting Note: “This is the second release of Valli’s Out of the Shadows series. Every once in a while, there are a couple of special barrels a winemaker would like to bottle separately, hide in the warehouse, pull out of the shadows and share once they are approaching maturity. In 2016, a single vineyard site along Waitaki Valley’s Grants Road delivered such a wine. It is now time to share and while this wine is beginning to show the complexity that can only come with age, we expect it will last and improve for another 8-10 years.” – Grant Taylor, October 2022

Winemaking Notes: Harvested 3rd May 2016. 15% whole bunch fruit, aged in 33% new oak, 66% one year, for 11 months. Unfined, unfiltered. 1380 bottles total production.
